Description
1 in 4 children globally live with a mother or female caregiver experiencing intimate partner violence. These children suffer the same negative effects as when they are direct victims of violence, and they are also more likely to experience violent discipline. Join UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA, WHO, and the World Bank for the launch of a new Evidence-to-Action series and infographic by UNICEF Innocenti – Global Office of Research and Foresight to identify opportunities to coordinate efforts to address violence against children and violence against women. During the webinar, we will be joined by Sheema Sen Gupta (Director, Child Protection, Programme Group, UNICEF), Cecile Aptel (Deputy Director, UNICEF Innocenti), Manuel Fontaine (Special Advisor Child Rights, UNICEF), Alessandra Guedes (Gender and Development Manager, UNICEF Innocenti), Kate Doyle (Consultant, UNICEF Innocenti), Moa Schafer (Consultant, UNICEF Innocenti), Christine Kolbe-Stuart (Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF), Nisrine Tawily (Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF Lebanon), Valentina Bordian (Consultant, UNICEF Moldova), Avni Amin (Unit Head, Rights and equality across the life course, WHO’s Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (HRP)), Manuel Contreras (Global Lead Gender-Based Violence, World Bank), Alexandra Robinson (Gender-based Violence Technical Advisor, UNFPA), and Kalliopi Mingeirou (Chief, Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Section, UN Women), who will discuss implications of the briefs, and how they can move the field forward and allow for better outcomes for both children and women.
