Side Event to the 52nd United Nations Statistical Commission - How has COVID-19 changed the world for children? Launch of the UNICEF SDG data portal and COVID-19 hub
For millions of children, the extent to which the world delivers on the SDG promise will determine the course of their lives – and their lives determine the future of this planet. But five years in and with COVID-19 reversing much progress, are we on track to achieve the SDGs for children? This side event to the 52nd Statistical Commission will kick off the launch of UNICEF’s new SDG data portal and COVID-19 hub. Built on open data principles and designed to engage, the SDG data portal surfaces the latest child related SDG data, measurement guidance and assessment on progress. The COVID-19 hub brings together the latest findings and projections on the impact of COVID-19 on children’s lives. The event will take place in the form of a short panel followed by various break-out sessions to allow for questions and discussion.

Speakers include Chief Statisticians, UNICEF’s Deputy Executive Director and UNICEF staff working on child related indicators.
